The Challenge

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) needed a complete overhaul of its website to better serve the public. Their existing website was outdated and required modernization for improved accessibility, security, and real-time communication. Lightray led the initiative and brought in [iS2 Digital] and CEO Kevin Goldberg as the technical lead and development partner to ensure a cutting-edge, future-proof solution.

The Solution

[iS2 Digital] collaborated with LAFD and Lightray to rebuild their entire digital infrastructure from the ground up. The new system featured powerful brand positioning, a real-time community alert system, mobile-responsive development, and full ADA compliance. A custom Drupal CMS was implemented, allowing staff with minimal technical expertise to easily manage and update content.

Project Details

  • Partnered with LAFD and Lightray to design a robust, scalable digital solution.
  • Deployed a Drupal-powered CMS, empowering staff with easy content management.
  • Built a real-time alert system leveraging PuSH technology for instant updates.
  • Integrated enterprise-grade security for system access and data protection.
  • Ensured full ADA compliance, making all systems accessible to all users.

The Client

The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation supports the LAFD in protecting life, property, and the environment by providing essential equipment, training, and public outreach programs to supplement city resources. In addition to the website, the Foundation recently purchased and donated 3,200 brush fire helmets. The Foundation is the major source of private support to the LAFD.

Manage Journals Admin Interface Page

HAPI at UCLA

The Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI) at UCLA relied on a system of Excel spreadsheets, printouts, legacy PERL scripts, and physical filing to manage their indexing operations. With no centralized digital workflow or validation, the system was inefficient, error-prone, and difficult to maintain. [iS2 Digital] was hired to reverse-engineer and replicate the system digitally, capturing business logic and streamlining internal workflows.

American Camp Association

The American Camp Association (ACA) envisioned a powerful yet user-friendly Find a Camp web application to serve multiple audiences, including Camp Directors, Association administrators, and, most importantly, parents searching for the right camp experience for their families. The platform had to be intuitive, responsive, on budget, and scalable to accommodate evolving user expectations and technological advancements.
